August Czartoryski, Ruthenian voivode and general starost, confirms Chaim Symchowicz in the office of the rabbi of Lviv and gives him the Ruthenian land rabbinate for three years, equipping him with judicial powers over Lviv and Lviv poviat Jews and freeing him from paying debts and taxes required of the Lviv kahal.
