Privilege of protection of the Halicz Starost Józef Potocki for the Karaites of Halicz
Considering the influx of Karaites to the destroyed Halicz, Józef Potocki, Kiev voivode and Halicz starost, orders the land elders of Ruthenia to take care of the Karaites and to not let them be sued in Halicz voivodeship court but only in starost court. He also forbids the Jews of Halicz to extend their supremacy over local Karaites, and he gives the Karaites his protection from charges of extraordinary taxes.
