Universal of Crown Treasurer Marek Matczyński on collecting the poll tax from the Jews of Bełz voivodeship and the Chełm land

Grand Crown Treasurer Marek Matczyński forbids the nobility of the Bełz voivodeship and Chełm land to protect Jews from local villages and towns and to prevent to collect general poll tax by Crown treasury assignation holders (deputies) under the threat of a suit by the Crown prosecutor in the Crown tribunal. In the case of the failure to provide the required amount, the deputies may seal synagogues, sequestrate Jewish goods, and imprison the debtors.
